Kari Miller, Ph.D., is an Investment Analyst with BioGenerator Ventures. Here she conducts scientific and business valuations to identify promising investments and advance the bioscience ecosystem in St. Louis.
Prior to joining the BioGenerator team, Kari was a consultant and project manager for the Biotechnology and Life Sciences Advising (BALSA) Group, a student-run consulting organization that provides services for emerging biotech companies. She was also a biotechnology equity research fellow at a St. Louis-area institutional investment firm. She performed both scientific and financial research to evaluate public biotech companies and support portfolio managers when making investment decisions.
Kari received her Ph.D. in Plant and Microbial Biosciences from Washington University in St. Louis. She was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a William H. Danforth Fellow in Plant Sciences. She also completed the Washington University Science Communication Credential program. Her thesis used genetics and mathematical modeling to advance their understanding of pollen grain biomechanics and improve plant fertility. Kari joined BioGenerator immediately after graduation.
