Jakob Vowinckel

Jakob Vowinckel serves as the Chief Officer of Scientific Operations and Head of Discovery Proteomics at Biognosys since April 2016, previously holding roles as Senior Scientific Project Manager and Scientific Project Manager. Prior to Biognosys, Vowinckel worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge from November 2011 to April 2016, where responsibilities included establishing a proteomics platform and developing LC & MS methodologies. Vowinckel completed a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics from August 2006 to January 2011, focusing on recombinant G proteins and the mapping of novel post-translational modifications. An early internship at CEA involved studying recombinant expression of muscarinic toxins. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and a high school diploma from Bismarck-Gymnasium Karlsruhe.
