Shayla Woodhouse

Project Designer at Biohabitats

Shayla Woodhouse is currently a Project Designer at Biohabitats. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Montana State University-Bozeman from August 2015 to February 2018. In that role, Shayla operated and optimized a full-scale pilot treatment wetland (wastewater) system at Bridger Bowl Ski Area. Shayla also performed all wastewater quality analysis including nitrate, ammonium, BOD, TSS, and COD. In addition, Shayla wrote design guidelines for vertical flow treatment wetlands in collaboration with faculty.

Before working at Montana State University-Bozeman, Shayla was an Engineering Intern at the City of Flagstaff from September 2014 to July 2015. In that role, they surveyed the landfill using GPS technology and assisted the landfill engineer with tasks using AutoCAD, Excel and Access. Shayla also analyzed contaminant transport from the landfill to the aquifer using EPA MultiMED software.

Shayla has also served in several leadership roles for Associated Students of Northern Arizona University including Teaching Assistant from January 2014 to May 2014, Vice President of Academic Affairs from September 2013 to May 2014 and Student Senator from September 2011 to May 2013.

Shayla Woodhouse has a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Northern Arizona University.
