Santosh Putta

Santosh Putta has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to software development, data analysis, and computational sciences in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Santosh'smost recent position is as the Head of Software and Data Science - Scientific Applications at BioLegend since January 2022. Prior to that, they were the CEO and co-founder of Qognit Inc., a company acquired by BioLegend, where they developed a comprehensive cloud-based software platform for managing and analyzing high-dimensional, large-scale single-cell data.

Before joining Qognit, Santosh was the Vice President of Computational Sciences at Nodality Inc. from March 2013 to January 2016. In this role, they established and led the software and computational sciences functions, initiated and architected multiple software projects, and led study design and data analysis for clinical diagnostic development and validation studies.

Santosh also worked at Telik Inc. as a Senior Scientist from April 2005 to February 2007, where they created and applied computational algorithms for the design and assessment of new drug candidate compounds.

Santosh was one of the three founding members of Rational Discovery LLC. from January 2003 to March 2005, where they focused on developing cheminformatics tools and providing data analysis services to pharmaceutical companies. Santosh also co-authored an open-source cheminformatics toolkit called RDKit.

Additionally, Santosh held various research scientist positions at Deltagen, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dupont Pharmaceuticals, and Combichem from September 1999 to December 2002.

Santosh Putta has an educational background in materials science and mechanical engineering. Santosh obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science from UC San Diego, completing their studies from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Materials Science from the same institution from 1994 to 1995. Santosh'sundergraduate education was completed at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1990 to 1994.
