Ryan Gist has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ryan started their career as an Intern at Boeing, where they assisted in developing solutions for the cargo bay and handling systems of the C-17 aircraft.
Ryan then joined California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo as a Lecturer and Lab Technician, teaching undergraduate courses and managing experimental hardware and data acquisition systems.
Afterwards, Gist worked at Pratt & Whitney as a Test Engineer & Analyst, specializing in hot-fire testing of air-breathing and rocket engine systems. Ryan later became a Senior Aero-Thermal Engineer, leading a team in the development of a direct steam generator.
Currently, Gist holds various roles at BioLite. Ryan started as a Senior Combustion Engineer, managing research grants and supporting the development of clean-burning biomass cookstoves. Ryan then became an Associate Director of Engineering, serving as the Principal Investigator on Department of Energy research grants and managing the combustion and thermal systems research team. Gist's most recent role at BioLite is Director of Engineering, where they oversaw product development and evaluated market opportunities. Ryan is currently the Vice President of Product Management, responsible for managing the product pipeline and leading strategic initiatives.
Ryan Gist earned their M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Ryan studied at the university from 2000 to 2005 and from 2005 to 2007.
