Gao Dong

Gao Dong, PhD, DABT, currently serves as Sr. Principal Scientist (Sr. Director) for Pharmacology & Toxicology at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., focusing on gene therapies and ASO therapies since October 2021. Prior to this role, Gao held positions at Viatris and Pfizer as Associate Research Fellow (Director) in Toxicology. Previous experience includes serving as an Associate Research Fellow in Pharmacology & Toxicology at Hospira, and as Study Director in Toxicology at both Charles River Laboratories and Eurofins. Gao's academic foundation was established as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Molecular Genetics at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, complemented by certification from the American Board of Toxicology, Inc. as a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology.
