Jiaqi Zheng, Ph.D., currently serves as a Scientist II in Analytical Science at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., beginning in January 2023. Previously, Jiaqi held positions as a Senior Scientist and Scientist at LGC, Biosearch Technologies from August 2020 to January 2023, and worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCSF from January 2019 to August 2020, where foundational technologies for the genetic study of the gut microbiome were developed using CRISPRi. Jiaqi completed a Ph.D. in Microbiology at Indiana University Bloomington, focusing on protein regulation in bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis, along with a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the same institution. A Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology was earned at Harbin Institute of Technology. Contributions include identifying new RNA-binding proteins and employing various molecular biology techniques to understand bacterial physiology.
