Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Processes at Biomason

Patrick Bolton has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a position as an Undergraduate Researcher/Research Student at the Environmental Catalysis and Materials Research Laboratory in 1994. Patrick then moved on to a role as a Printed Circuit Board Research & Development Engineer at Compunetics, Inc in 1998. In 1997, they took a position as a Research & Development Technician at DuPont Photopolymers and Electronic Materials, where they developed screen-printable, high temperature fired, thick-film electronic materials, processes and products.

In 1999, Patrick took a role as a Research and Development Polymer Synthesis Chemist and then a Research and Development Formulations Chemist/Engineer at Shipley Company. In 2002, they moved to West Virginia University as a Program Coordinator, where they developed new educational experiments emphasizing computer data acquisition.

In 2005, Patrick moved to a position as a Development Technologist at NOVA Chemicals, where they developed expandable polystyrene bench and pilot scale products for the housing insulation market. Patrick then moved to a role as an Engineer at Frog Environmental in 2011, where they were responsible for industrial storm water permit interpretation, compliance consulting, site evaluation, exceedance source determination, and remediation strategy development.

Most recently, Patrick took a position as a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Processes at Biomason in 2021, where they are responsible for biochemical reactor and fluid handling process design and specification, equipment specification and selection for biologically produced cement products for a new plant in Denmark, as well as fluid delivery and mixing systems process ownership utilizing statistical process control for development of new processes and formulation blend model development.

Patrick Bolton attended Virginia Tech from 1991 to 1996, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics. In 2003, they began attending West Virginia University, where they obtained a Master of Science in Mathematics before leaving in 2005. In July 2021, they obtained a Six Sigma Foundations certification from LinkedIn.
