Barbora Šnaraitė

Python Developer / Bioinformatics Scientist at Biomatter Designs

Barbora Šnaraitė has been working in the tech industry since 2017. In that year, they began working as a Teacher at Robotikos mokykla / Robotics School, where they taught children and adult groups courses such as Arduino, the Internet of Things, 3D modelling, Micro:bit, Lego Mindstorms, and C/C++ programming. Barbora also created the curriculum and worked on individual robotics projects.

In 2018, they became a Software Development Consultant at Tia Technology.

In 2020, they began working as a Research Assistant at Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University, where they worked on a project called ‘COVID-19 infection in Lithuania: modelling and analysis of socio-economic consequences’. Her duties included mathematical modelling with MATLAB, reading and reviewing papers, assistance with model development, parameter fitting, and article preparation.

Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Python Developer / Bioinformatics Scientist at Biomatter (Designs). Her duties include developing and maintaining computational tools for protein design, building and refining machine learning models, algorithms, and data pipelines, and experimental data analysis.

Barbora Šnaraitė obtained their High School Diploma from Vilniaus Licėjus in 2014. Barbora then attended Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University, where they received their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 2019. In May of 2019, they also obtained the CII Level 2 Award for the Foundation Insurance Test from the Chartered Insurance Institute. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Mathematics at the University of Oxford, which they are expected to complete in 2021.
