Jay D. Meyers

Vice President for External Affairs at BRF

Jay D. Meyers, Vice President for External Affairs, leads the BRF’s resource development and communication functions. Jay has worked at the BRF since 1992 and has been instrumental in many facets of the BRF’s growth. He has secured over $138 million in public and private support and led the communications efforts during the BRF’s acquisition, start-up and sale of two safety net hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe with over 3,200 employees and a $600 million annual operating budget.

Prior to joining the BRF, Jay served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Illinois State University and Assistant Director of Admissions and Director of Alumni Affairs at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas.

He is the past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals North Louisiana Chapter, former Vice President of the Montessori School for Shreveport and currently serves as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport. Jay is married with two children.

Jay received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Hardin-Simmons University, his Master of Science in Communication from Illinois State University and has obtained the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
