Dwi Susanti

Dwi Susanti has a diverse work experience in the field of microbiology and pharmaceutical research. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Research Scientist - Microbial Discovery Research Lead at BiomEdit, a microbiome company focused on developing novel probiotics and bioactives for animal health. Dwi joined the company in April 2022.

Before joining BiomEdit, Dwi worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Microbiome Research and Development (MBRD) Services Company from January 2022 to April 2022.

Prior to their role at MBRD, they held positions at Elanco, starting as a Research Scientist in June 2019 and later promoted to Senior Research Scientist in October 2021. Their tenure at Elanco ended in December 2021.

From 2013 to 2019, Dwi worked at Virginia Tech, first as a Postdoctoral Associate from August 2013 to December 2017 and then as a Research Scientist from December 2017 to May 2019.

In 2014, they participated in the Kadner Summer Institute of the American Society for Microbiology.

Their career began in 2003 at Dexa Medica, where they served as a Research and Development Pharmacist. Their work focused on developing new pharmaceutical products and utilizing modern drug delivery technologies until April 2005.

Additionally, Dwi has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech from August 2006 to July 2013, and as a Research Assistant at the Tuberculosis Research Center, Department of Pharmacy, at Institut Teknologi Bandung from May 2005 to May 2006.

Furthermore, they worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech from September 2005 to February 2006, where they conducted genomic analysis and immune response characterization for Mycobacterium tuberculosis research.

Dwi Susanti holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from Virginia Tech, which they completed in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Professional pharmacy degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2003. In 2002, they graduated from the same institution with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Pharmacy from Institut Teknologi Bandung, although the specific month and year of obtaining the certification are not provided.
