Ryan Church has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. In 2009, they were a Student Researcher at McGill University, where they assessed the role of TC-PTP in B-Cell development and the DNA damage response pathway to VDJ recombination. In 2010, they were a Student Researcher at UBC ICORD, where they determined the fate of transplanted SKP-Schwann cells in the chronically injured rodent spinal cord. In 2012, they were a Wildfire Fighter for the BC Provincial Government, where they conducted wilderness fire suppression through the use of hand tools, pumps, and helicopters. In 2014, they were a Health System Strategist at MaRS Discovery District, where they worked with partners and MaRS Market Intelligence to map critical information assets in the Ontario health care system and related systems. In 2017, they were an Alumni - BiomeRenewables at Creative Destruction Lab. Finally, in 2019, they were a Next Founders Member at NEXT Canada.
Ryan Church attended Thomas Haney Secondary, followed by the University of Victoria, where they obtained a B.A. in Ryan'story in Art (Hons.) between 2007 and 2012. Ryan then attended OCAD University, where they obtained an MDes in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at the center of Design, Business and Foresight between 2013 and 2014. In 2014, they also obtained a Biomedical Device Design degree from the University of Toronto. Finally, in 2018, they completed the Creative Destruction Lab program at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
