Nick Chia has extensive experience in the medical and pharmaceutical field. Nick currently holds the position of Vice President Medical Affairs ASPAC at bioMérieux, where they lead the Medical Affairs team in the Asia-Pacific Region and develops relationships with key thought leaders in infectious diseases and relevant specialties.
Prior to this, Nick worked as the Senior Medical Director APAC at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, where they provided medical leadership and support to various departments and ensured the alignment of local activities with global strategy.
Nick also served as the Asia Medical Director at Ipsen, where they coordinated and oversaw local medical teams, provided scientific support, and participated in the formulation of medical strategy.
Nick's early career included roles at Quintiles as Senior Director and Clinical Development Strategist, where they provided clinical leadership and guidance, and at GlaxoSmithKline as Medical Lead and International Medical Advisor in the neurosciences field.
Nick has also held positions at LCG Bioscience, Cambridge University Addenbrooke's Hospital, University of London Charing Cross Hospital, University of Michigan Health System, and University of Leicester Royal Infirmary, gaining valuable experience in clinical research and medical practice.
Nick Chia has a solid education history. Nick completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology and Anatomy from the University of Leicester in 1993. Nick further pursued their medical education and obtained their MB ChB degree from the same university in 1996. Nick continued their studies in Internal Medicine, earning their MRCP(UK) degree from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2004. Nick also completed various courses and programs in Pharmaceutical Medicine, including an MFPM degree from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2011, and an FFPM degree from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2014. Additionally, they obtained the FRCP(Edin) and FRCP titles in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians of London, respectively, prior to 2015.
