Debannita Datta, PhD, is a highly skilled scientist with significant expertise in assay development and nucleic acid isolation. Currently serving as Scientist II in Assay Development at Bionano since November 2022, Datta has contributed to the creation of various commercially available nucleic acid isolation kits. Previously, as Scientist I at Purigen Biosystems, Datta led the commercial launch of the Ionic Cells to Pure DNA Kit, overseeing the development of protocols and reagents for diverse cell types. As a co-founder of Smanderer, an AI-driven travel optimization startup, Datta combined entrepreneurial skills with a passion for travel to develop innovative solutions. The foundational research experience at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology included purifying a novel enzyme with applications in antibiotic production, complemented by a PhD in Biochemistry (Protein Chemistry) and additional training in Intellectual Property Law from the World Intellectual Property Organization.
