Dana Smith

Dana Smith, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Medical Writer at Bionical Solutions since October 2023, following a notable academic and professional journey. As a PhD candidate in Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh from August 2017 to March 2023, Dana engaged in teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, delivering lectures and coordinating undergraduate educational activities. A previous internship with UPMC Media Relations enabled Dana to discover a passion for science communication through writing and content creation. Prior research experiences include roles as a thesis student researcher at Colgate University, a research intern at Columbia University Medical Center, and participation in a summer research program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dana holds a PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Neuroscience and French with high honors from Colgate University.
