Jon Selby has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Jon started their career as a Trainee Information Officer at Derbyshire County Council in 2006. Jon then worked as a Claims Handler at Homeserve Claims Management from 2002 to 2005. In 2006, they joined Square Peg Recruitment Ltd as a Software Developer, responsible for the analysis, design, development, and support of the company's bespoke candidate talent system and associated website. From 2006 to 2013, Jon worked at Derby City Council, first as a Senior Software Developer and then as a Principal Software Developer. During this time, they worked on projects such as the Digital by Default Transformation Program, where they served as a Service Designer/Development Lead. In 2019, Jon joined Bionical Solutions as a Full Stack Team Lead, where they were in charge of developing and delivering various projects across the company's pharma portfolio, including Early Access Programs software and MED Select packages. Jon also managed a team of 5 full stack developers and was responsible for their line management, mentoring, and support.

Jon Selby attended the University of Central Lancashire from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing with a focus on Advanced Database Systems. In 2017, they also obtained a PRINCE2® Practitioner certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
