James Schmalz

James Schmalz has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. James started their career in the US Navy as a Nuclear Trained Machinist Mate 2nd Class, where they purchased and distributed repair parts, tracked inventory, and trained new employees. After leaving the Navy, Schmalz worked at Research Organics, Inc. as an MRO Buyer, Buyer, and later as a Supply Chain Manager, responsible for strategic sourcing and managing the purchasing process. James then joined Ashland as a Purchasing Manager, overseeing a team of buyers and managing inventory levels. Schmalz also worked at Research Organics, Inc. as an Operations Director, where they managed day-to-day activities and ensured manufacturing capacity met production goals. James then joined VWR, part of Avantor, as an Operations Manager/Site Leader, overseeing the operations of a chemical manufacturing and distribution facility. James'sresponsibilities included staff management, resolving complex problems, and collaborating with the sales team. Schmalz then transitioned to Calibre Scientific, Inc., where they held various roles including Head of Operations for Calibre Scientific's Maumee operations, Senior Vice President of Operations, Executive Vice President of Operations, and finally, President of Americas. In these roles, they were responsible for managing operations, developing company products, and ensuring high-quality customer service. Currently, Schmalz serves as the Vice President of Operations at Bionix®, where their roles and responsibilities are yet to be determined.
