Jennifer Stencel Baerenwald

Jennifer Stencel Baerenwald is an experienced immunologist currently working as the Director of T Cell Immunology, Process Development at BioNTech SE since September 2022, having previously served as Associate Director in the same field from October 2017 to September 2022 at Biogen. Educationally, Jennifer holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Vanderbilt University and a BS in Animal Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Past research roles include Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington, where Jennifer focused on Zika virus research, and Graduate Student Researcher at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and The University of Chicago, with contributions to understanding viral infections and their effects on diseases like celiac disease.
