Sierk Poetting

Sierk Poetting is the current Chief Operating Officer at BioNTech. Prior to this, they served as Vice President of Finance and Procurement and then as Senior Director of Business Planning and Analysis at Sandoz Inc. in the United States.

Poetting began their career as a Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company in 2003. Sierk remained with the company for three years before moving to Sandoz. Sierk spent six years at Sandoz before leaving to join BioNTech in 2014.

Poetting has a wealth of experience in finance, procurement, IT, and facility management. Sierk has played a key role in the growth and success of both Sandoz and BioNTech. Under their leadership, both companies have flourished.

Sierk Poetting has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and a Master of Science (MSc) in Optics/Optical Sciences from University of Arizona.
