Lauren Kane

President/CEO at BioOne

Lauren Kane has a long and varied career in the scholarly communication industry. Lauren began their career in 2004 as an Associate Editor, Academic Journals at Blackwell Publishing, followed by roles as an Assistant Editor and Editorial Coordinator. In 2006, they joined BioOne as Manager of Publisher and Library Relations, eventually becoming Senior Director of Publishing Administration, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Strategy and Operating Officer. In 2019, they joined Delta Think as Chief Executive Officer and the Society for Scholarly Publishing as President-Elect, President, and Past President. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Chief Publishing Officer at Morressier. In 2022, they will become President/CEO of BioOne.

Lauren Kane attended Georgetown University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2009, they returned to Georgetown University to receive an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Management. Finally, they attended UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics from 2011 to 2013, where they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA).
