Jerry Gu

Senior Manager, Scientific Content at BioRender

Jerry Gu has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jerry has been working at BioRender since 2019, starting as a Medical Illustrator and later transitioning to roles such as Associate Scientific Content Lead, Scientific Creative Lead, and currently serving as a Scientific Content Manager. Jerry'sresponsibilities at BioRender include managing the creative team, coordinating projects with scientific designers and illustrators, and providing collaborative consultation to user research, product, and growth teams.

Prior to joining BioRender, Jerry worked at Anatomize | Studios as a Project Coordinator in 2018. Jerry also worked as a Freelance Illustrator since 2016, taking on various freelance projects.

Jerry has experience in 3D interactive design, having worked as a 3D Interactive Designer (Contract) at imagineeringart.com, Inc. from 2018 to 2019. Jerry has also worked as a Graphic Designer for the Institute of Medical Sciences Magazine from 2017 to 2018.

Jerry's earlier experiences include serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2018, a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) in 2017, and a Research Assistant at the Cordula Enenkel Lab, University of Toronto from 2013 to 2016. Jerry also briefly worked as a Parts Manager at Federal Elevator Systems Inc. in 2013.

Jerry's career began as an Illustrator for The McGill Daily from 2009 to 2013.

Jerry Gu holds a Master's Degree in Biomedical Communications which was obtained from the University of Toronto from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they also earned another Master's Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, covering the period from 2013 to 2016. Jerry'sBachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in Psychology, was achieved at McGill University, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. Jerry completed their high school education at Leaside High School from 2005 to 2009.
