Philip Kim

Head of Finance at BioRender

Philip Kim has a diverse range of work experience in finance and leadership roles. Starting in 1993, they worked at KPMG as a Second Year Supervising Senior Auditor for three years. Philip then moved on to Nortel Networks as a Senior Internal Auditor from 1996 to 1998, followed by a position at The Coca-Cola Company as a Senior International Auditor from 1999 to 2002.

In 2002, Philip joined Parmalat Canada as a Corporate Controller, where they managed financial reporting and provided P&L insights to the Executive Team. Over the course of five years, they rotated through various roles of increasing responsibility.

From 2007 to 2012, Philip worked at EmbanetCompass as a VP & Corporate Controller. Philip provided strategic financial direction and oversaw various ERP conversions.

Following this, Philip held a role as the VP Financial Control, North America at Pearson North America from an unspecified start date until August 2016. There, they led the transformation of the North American Finance function and implemented cost-saving measures.

In 2017, Philip joined Keypath Education as a VP & Controller and was responsible for building the Finance team and transitioning the function from Kansas City to Toronto.

Starting in August 2019, Philip worked at Rangle.io as the VP of Finance. Philip revamped management view financial statements and client profitability reporting methodology and introduced a cost-conscious mindset to the company culture.

Currently, Philip is the Head of Finance at BioRender, where they manage Finance, Legal, People, and IT. Philip'srole involves navigating the company's hypergrowth in a PLG SaaS startup environment and driving high performance and agility.

Throughout their career, Philip has consistently demonstrated their ability to take on new challenges, build and lead teams, and drive financial success in various industries.

Philip Kim has a Masters of Accounting (MAcc) degree from the University of Waterloo. In addition, they hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Honours Chartered Accountancy Studies with a Co-operative program from the same university.
