Rodney Draaisma has extensive work experience in the software development field. In 1994, they started as an Intern and Software Developer at Ultimate Technology B.V., where they created the Windows version of the company's main Schematic Capture product and the first Windows application for the company. Rodney was granted special permission to extend their internship to a 1.5 year period.
In 1999, they joined Electronics Workbench Europe as a Software Developer before transitioning to Electronics Workbench in 2003 as a Software Developer and Software Architect. There, they designed a common software core for the company's main products, MultiSIM and UltiBOARD, reducing the code base and simplifying development. Rodney also played a key role in the release of MultiSIM after several years of development. Rodney was the only original developer from the Ultimate Technology team to remain after all R&D was moved to Canada.
From 2005 to 2018, Rodney worked at National Instruments Canada as a Software Architect and Senior Software Developer. Rodney successfully researched and prototyped the company's first major web application, Multisim Live, and became the lead developer for that application. Rodney designed and implemented various features for the company's circuit simulation and PCB design applications. Rodney retained their Senior Software Developer title and salary during organizational changes resulting from an acquisition.
In 2018, Rodney joined BioRender as a Senior Software Developer.
Rodney Draaisma pursued their education at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1991 to 1995. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, which was their field of study.
