Emil Hewage is a distinguished entrepreneur and leader in the fields of neural interfaces and technology innovation. As CEO and Co-Founder of BIOS since May 2015, Emil oversees the development of an open standard hardware and software interface between the human nervous system and AI, aiming to pioneer new therapies for chronic diseases. Additionally, Emil serves as a Board Member and Founder of Alchera Technologies, providing insights for smart cities and transport systems, and as a Board Member and Founding Advisor at Cambridge Cancer Genomics, focused on improving cancer treatment through genomics and machine learning. Emil is also the Founder and Managing Director of Cambridge Applied Research Ltd, which fosters disruptive innovation in technology. Previous experience includes doctoral research in Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge, as well as roles at prestigious organizations such as McKinsey & Company and Siemens AG. Emil holds a BA and MEng from the University of Cambridge.
