Marc Elston has over 10 years of experience in the IT industry. In 2007, they began working as a Systems Admin/Integrator at GuardianProfessional, where they managed 25 sites, mainly hosted on IIS6, with a number on Apache/Tomcat/php. Marc worked closely with php developers on site migrations and deployment, and was responsible for rewriting back-end ASP/php pages, disassembling, modifying and recompiling Java files and .NET. In 2010, they moved on to Clifford Thames as a Release Engineer/Systems Administrator. In 2012, they joined IG as a Web & Middleware Engineer, where they were responsible for day-to-day administration of around 120 Red Hat Apache/Tomcat/Terracotta servers, writing of puppet manifests, and Hiera mechanisms to support configuration rollout across environments. In 2016, they became a DevOps at Doctorcareanywhere, and in 2022, they were promoted to Senior DevOps Engineer at BIOS Health Ltd.

Marc Elston's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from The Open University (1995-2005), an HNC in Software Engineering from FARNBOROUGH COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (1995-1997), an HND Equivalent in Electronic Engineering with Business Systems from Southampton Institute (now Solent University) (1991-1994), and a High School diploma from Bournemouth (grammar) School (1980-1987).
