Olivier Tessier-Larivière

Junior Machine Learning Engineer at BIOShealth

Olivier Tessier-Larivière has been in the field of machine learning since 2017. Olivier began their career as a Software Engineer Intern at Autolog in 2017, where they automated the calibration of a computer vision system, implemented image analysis algorithms using OpenCV, and managed the whole project. In 2018, they were promoted to Machine Learning Developer at Autolog, where they classified tree species from spectroscopic data using machine learning, trained neural networks using PyTorch, and reviewed literature relevant to the project. In 2016, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Wibicom Inc., where they coded data acquisition and transmission on ultra-low power embedded systems, created an Android application to interact with Bluetooth sensors, and developed a Bluetooth to TCP/IP gateway. Most recently, in 2020, they were a Machine Learning Engineer Intern at BIOS Health Ltd., where they built generative models of peripheral nerve recordings (PNS-GAN), assessed the similarity of synthetic neural data and real neural data through various experiments, and published the research at IEEE Conference on Neural Engineering 2021. In 2021, they were promoted to Junior Machine Learning Engineer at BIOS Health Ltd.

Olivier Tessier-Larivière completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a D.E.C in Science Informatique & Mathématique from Collège Lionel-Groulx from 2012 to 2014. Olivier then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Machine Learning from Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute from 2019 to 2020.
