Hans Genee

Co-Founder and CSO at Biosyntia

Hans Genee has a diverse work experience. Hans is the Co-Founder and CSO of Biosyntia, a company they started in 2012. Hans also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability in 2015. Before that, they were involved in science communication and was a Doctoral Candidate at the Technical University of Denmark from 2008 to 2015. Hans also had research stints as a Visiting PhD researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2013-2014 and as a Visiting Researcher at Harvard University in 2011. Hans was part of an iGEM project at MIT in 2008 and was involved in organizing the Biotech Academy Camp in the same year. Additionally, Hans served in the military in 2005.

Hans Genee has an extensive education history in the field of biotechnology and systems biology. Hans began their educational journey at DTU - Technical University of Denmark in 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Biotechnology Engineering in 2009. During their time at DTU, they also participated in an exchange program at Delft University of Technology in 2009, focusing on biotechnology.

In 2010, Hans enrolled at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen and pursued a Master of Science in Immunology and Stem Cell Sciences. Hans completed this program in 2011. Additionally, in 2011, Hans had the opportunity to be a visiting researcher at Harvard Medical School, where they focused on biotechnology engineering.

Hans achieved another significant milestone in their education by pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering (Honors Program) in Systems Biology at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. This program lasted from 2009 to 2012.

Outside of the realm of biotechnology and systems biology, Hans briefly explored Sports and Gymnastics in 2006 at the Academy of Physical Education Ollerup.
