Michel Montemayor van Rooy

Michel Montemayor van Rooy has a diverse work experience in various industries. Michel started their career as a Professor Associate at Universitat de Barcelona in 2005 and worked there until 2007. After that, they joined the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau as a Superior Research Technician, where they conducted epidemiological and resistance studies on Mycobacterium tuberculosis using DNA chips and molecular biology. In 2010, they joined Arema SAS as a Quality Technician, where they developed water safety plans based on WHO and IWA recommendations and implemented ISO 22000 in a drinking water treatment company.

In 2012, Michel joined ATOM SA as a Product Specialist, responsible for providing product expertise. Michel then moved on to ATLL Concessionària de la Generalitat de Catalunya, SA - Aigües Ter Llobregat in 2010 as part of the Aigües Ter Llobregat team. In this role, they worked on water concession projects.

From 2015 to present, Michel has been working at Biosystems S.A. as the International Product Manager of the Biochemistry product line. Their responsibilities include managing marketing and sales for diagnostic reagents and analyzers. Michel also plays a role in new product onboarding and improving user experience by understanding user needs.

In 2015, they also worked as Gerente at PSAigua until 2017.

Michel Montemayor van Rooy pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting in 1997 when they attended the Universitat de Barcelona. Michel completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2001. Following this, they enrolled in a Doctorate program at the same university and obtained a Doctorate in Biological Sciences, specializing in Microbiology, in 2007.

In 2022, Michel decided to further enhance their academic qualifications and enrolled in the EAE Business School, where they pursued a Master's degree in Project Management, specializing in Project Management. Simultaneously, they also pursued another Master's degree in Big Data & BI at the IEAD - Instituto Europeo de Alta Dirección, which they completed in 2023.
