Sau Yin Chin

Sau Yin obtained her Bachelors in Engineering from Imperial College London and subsequently completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University, New York. She has experience in microfabrication and microfluidic techniques for developing medical devices and is interested in bringing technology to real-life applications. The nature of her research also often gives her the opportunity to work in cross-disciplinary teams. Since coming back to Singapore, she has been exploring the business and entrepreneurial side of things, such as developing a business plan and pitch for the inaugural Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) Competition (Best Business Plan Award and Overall Winner). She is also keen on scientific outreach programs and participates yearly at Makerfaire Singapore. Outside of work, Sau Yin enjoys cooking, eating, and Muay Thai.
