Biswatosh Pati

Biswatosh Pati has over 20 years of work experience in the field of fermentation and enzyme development. Biswatosh is currently serving as a Lead Scientist - Fermentation at BIOWEG since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Phyx44 Labs Pvt Ltd as the LEAD - Fermentation and Purification from August 2021 to September 2022.

Before joining Phyx44 Labs, Biswatosh worked at Novozymes for over 13 years. Starting as an Associate Scientist in October 2007, they contributed to various areas such as process development, technology transfer, and optimization of fermentation and recovery processes. Biswatosh was also involved in enzyme development, strain development through mutation, and product realization from laboratory to production level. Additionally, they played a key role in implementing ISO-14001 specification and Electronic Laboratory Notebook, ensuring successful implementation of quality management systems.

Prior to Novozymes, Biswatosh worked at Biocon as a Senior Scientist, where they conducted independent research and developed enzymes and strains for various industries. Biswatosh was involved in developing enzymes for commercial applications.

Earlier in their career, Biswatosh worked as a Research Scientist at Proteinlounge. Biswatosh'sresponsibilities included analyzing the structure, function, and mechanism of action of proteins involved in various metabolic pathways. Biswatosh also created comprehensive information hubs and represented biochemical interactions among proteins.

Biswatosh Pati completed their Master's degree in Biochemistry from Sambalpur University from 1998 to 2000. Biswatosh then pursued a PG Diploma in Bioinformatics from IBAB during the year 2004 to 2005.
