Dr Mark-Paul Buckingham

Dr Mark-Paul Buckingham is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in vibration engineering and consultancy. As Managing Director of Xi Engineering Consultants Ltd. since April 2011, Dr Buckingham leads a specialist firm known for tackling complex engineering challenges. Dr Buckingham also serves as a Non-Executive Director and former CEO of Reactec Limited, a company focused on workplace vibration solutions, which Dr Buckingham founded in 2001. In addition to these roles, Dr Buckingham is the Chairman and Board Member of Bipolar Scotland, advocating for mental health awareness. Dr Buckingham’s educational background includes a PhD in Vibration Engineering and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh.

We are small charity with a mighty impact. Our community is involved in improving the lives of people affected by Bipolar through peer-support, advice and information, self-management training, challenging stigma, promoting participation in the Arts and shaping policy development as part of the Scottish Mental Health partnership. Our Mission statement: To enhance the quality of life of people with Bipolar Disorder by enabling them to deal effectively with the illness so that their condition of life may be improved. Our objectives: • To provide information, advice, support and education to people with bipolar disorder, their friends, relatives, carers and professionals. • To promote, develop, and co-ordinate a network of self-help groups throughout Scotland. • To reduce stigma by improving knowledge and understanding of bipolar disorder. • To encourage research into all aspects of bipolar disorder.
