Leah Tanya Cheeke has a diverse education history. Leah Tanya started their academic journey in 1991 at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they pursued General Studies. In 1992, they attended Fleet School and obtained an Able seaman Qualification (OSQAB). After a break in their education, Leah went on to Keyin College from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Diploma in Pharmacy Technician/Assistant. In 2014, they returned to Keyin College for another diploma, this time in Occupational Health and Safety, which they completed in 2016.
Leah's major educational achievement came from Cape Breton University, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences (Public Health). Leah Tanya enrolled in 2016 and is expected to complete their degree in 2022.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Leah has obtained various certifications and training. These include CSTS 20 from the Alberta Construction Safety Association, Occupational First Aid Level III from HeartSafe EMS Inc., and multiple marine safety certifications such as Marine Emergency Chute Training (MEC) from Survitec Group Ltd. and Marine Evacuation Systems (Slide) MES LSA from BC Ferries. Leah Tanya also holds certifications in Passenger Safety Management and WHMIS. Furthermore, they have received certifications in topics such as traffic control, fall arrest, first aid/CPR, and transportation of dangerous goods.
