Paul Pastirik

SVP Strategic Development at Bird

Paul Pastirik has a diverse range of experience in various leadership and consulting roles.

Paul started their career at Centra Gas in 1987 as a Senior Manager in Regulatory Affairs and Planning, where they worked until 1990.

Paul then joined Union Gas as an Area General Manager from 1990 to 1996, followed by a role as Director of Human Resources from 1996 to 1999.

In 1999, Paul joined Aecon Group Inc. as the Executive Vice President Finance for the Infrastructure Group. Paul later became the Senior Vice President of Finance, responsible for all financial matters related to Aecon's three operation business units from 2012 to 2014.

Following their time at Aecon, Paul started their own consulting firm called Paul Pastirik Consulting in 2014. Paul provided consulting services in business services, leadership development, construction management, and business development. Paul also served on two voluntary boards, Mohawk College and Ovarian Cancer Canada.

From 2015 to 2017, Paul served as a Board Member at the Ontario Energy Board.

Currently, Paul is the SVP of Strategic Development at Bird Construction, a role they have held since 2017.

Paul Pastirik has a strong educational background in finance and accounting. Paul obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Finance and Human Resources from McMaster University, where they studied from 1973 to 1977. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance and Financial Management Services at the University of Ottawa from 1977 to 1978. Later, Paul earned their Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from the Certified Professional Accountants program, where they studied from 1979 to 1983. It is worth noting that they also hold a CPA certification, although the exact institution and year of attainment are unspecified.
