Tammy Davies

Tammy Davies is an experienced Marine Science Coordinator at BirdLife International since December 2016, where responsibilities include coordinating scientific efforts for the Marine Programme, focusing on seabird data utilization for decision-making and advocating for area-based management tools. Prior to this role, Tammy served as a Senior Marine Science Officer, working on identifying marine Important Bird Areas and assessing threats to seabirds, particularly in the Indian Ocean region. Academic experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Victoria, researching the effectiveness of large Marine Protected Areas, and a PhD from the University of St Andrews examining the impact of land use change on biodiversity and poverty in the Solomon Islands. Earlier positions involved research roles at organizations like the North of England Zoological Society and ReefDoctor, alongside foundational studies in biology, conservation, and biodiversity from respected institutions.
