David L. Kuo has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. David L. is currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer at BirdoTech, where they oversee global CRDMO services and develops initiatives to drive revenue and EBITDA growth. Prior to this, they worked at Pharma Services, Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, as a Senior Director responsible for API sourcing. In this role, they provided leadership for global procurement of direct and indirect materials and executed sourcing strategies.
Before their role at Patheon, Kuo held various positions at Merck, including Director of Pharma API Technology & Support, Director of Integrated Sourcing & Development, Director of Strategic Procurement and API Technology Transfer, and Director of Chemical Sourcing and Development, Global Supply Chain. In these roles, they supported R&D initiatives, managed procurement, and oversaw API life cycle management.
Kuo began their career at Lonza, where they served as an Associate Director of Sales and Business Development, Head of Process Development, and Manager of Project Evaluation. David L. implemented process improvement strategies, technology transfer, and innovation during their time at Lonza.

David L. Kuo completed their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The University of British Columbia between 1979 and 1983. David L. then pursued their Ph.D. in Enantiospecific Synthesis of Longifolene Natural Product from the same institute from 1983 to 1987. Following that, they obtained a Post-Doctoral degree in Transition metal-catelyzed Intramolecular Enantioselective Ene-Cyclisation from the University of Geneva in 1988 and 1989.
