Ronald F. Mathieu

Ronald F. Mathieu C.M. has an extensive work experience in airport management and operations. Ronald F. currently serves as the President & CEO of Birmingham Airport Authority since June 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Director at the Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport from December 2007 to May 2019. Ronald F. also filled the role of Deputy Executive Director at the Little Rock National Airport from January 2006 to December 2007. Before that, they served as the Director of Operations at the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport from April 2002 to January 2006.

Ronald F. Mathieu C.M. completed their high school education from Forest Hills Highschool, earning a High School Diploma in the field of High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. Ronald F. attended Forest Hills Highschool from 1976 to 1980. After completing high school, they pursued further education at Florida Institute of Technology from 1980 to 1985. Ronald F. earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aviation Management from the aforementioned institute.

Birmingham Airport Authority

The Birmingham Airport Authority was established in 1986 by the Birmingham City Council to manage the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and continue its growth. The Birmingham Airport Authority is governed by a seven member Board of Directors, appointed by the Mayor of City of Birmingham and confirmed by the Birmingham City Council. The day to day operation is managed by the President and CEO and The Birmingham Airport Authority staff of over 100 employees within five departments. The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) home to four major airlines with over 100 daily flights to 15 cities for more than 2.6 million passengers in 2016. BHM offers a great variety of food and retail options for passengers along with amenities for all passengers alike.
