Jon Asato

Jon Asato is an experienced multimedia and brand design manager with a robust background in science communication and event organization. Currently serving at Bishop Museum since April 2013, Asato presents engaging programs for diverse audiences, including the "Stars Tonight" evening show and the 21+ Hoku & Hops program. Previous roles include management associate at Hawaiʻi Academy of Science, where Asato organized delegations for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and associate director for the Pacific Symposium for Science & Sustainability, facilitating a professional conference experience for aspiring scientists. Asato’s extensive experience in teaching, media criticism, and technical support, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, underscores a strong foundation in both the sciences and communications.
