Richard Yao has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Richard started their career in 1996 at Lockheed Martin as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they primarily focused on flight hardware development for NASA. During their time at Lockheed Martin, Richard also gained experience in project management, coordinating flight hardware technology development, design, verification, stress analysis, and testing. Richard stayed with the company until 2011.
After leaving Lockheed Martin, Richard joined NanoRacks LLC as a Contractor in 2010, where they worked until 2015. Following that, they joined Baker Hughes as a Product Development Engineer, contributing to the company's projects from 2011 to 2015.
In 2015, Richard transitioned to GE Oil & Gas as a Lead Engineer/Technologist. Richard also held the position of Lead Engineer at Baker Hughes, a GE company, from 2015 to 2019. During this period, they played an instrumental role in various engineering projects.
In 2020, Richard Yao joined Geospace Technologies as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, showcasing their expertise as a project contributor until 2023.
Currently, Richard works as a Project Engineer at BiSN, starting from February 2023. This recent position highlights their continued growth and versatility in the engineering field.
Richard Yao obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, where they attended from 1978 to 1986. Richard then pursued further education and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston from 1989 to 1996.
