Our mission is to work with others to empower people to move from poverty to prosperity. We enable people to meet their own basic daily needs, participate in community, have sustainable livelihoods, feel hope for the future, and make plans for a better life.

The Community Development Team at Bissell Centre focuses on creating and strengthening community connections to empower individuals and families to transition from poverty to prosperity. This team oversees community programs, advocates for systemic change, facilitates permanent supportive housing, and offers outreach housing services to ensure that basic needs are met and sustainable livelihoods are developed. Together, they build relationships, foster hope, and develop plans to enhance the well-being and dignity of community members.

The Marketing and Communications team at Bissell Centre strategizes and executes initiatives to raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission to eliminate poverty and homelessness. This includes managing marketing campaigns, fostering media relationships, producing impactful visual content, and ensuring consistent and effective communication with stakeholders and the community.

The Leadership Team at Bissell Centre is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering community partnerships to achieve the organization's mission of eliminating poverty and homelessness. Team members, including the Chief Programs Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, work collaboratively to develop and implement initiatives that empower individuals to move from poverty to prosperity and improve their overall well-being.
