Emmanouil Metzakopian

Emmanouil Metzakopian has a solid background in research and development, with a focus on innovative and groundbreaking work. Emmanouil is currently serving as the VP of Research and Development at bit.bio since April 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Research and Development from August 2021 to June 2022. In addition, they served as the Head of Innovation at bit.bio from April 2021 to August 2021.

Before joining bit.bio, Emmanouil worked at the UK Dementia Research Institute as the Group Leader from May 2018 to April 2023. Prior to the UK Dementia Research Institute, they held the role of Group Leader at Wellcome trust Sanger Institute from January 2016 to April 2023. Emmanouil started their career as a Postdoc at Wellcome Sanger Institute from March 2013 to December 2015.

Emmanouil Metzakopian began their education in 2001 at the University of Thessaly, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. Emmanouil successfully completed this program in 2006. Subsequently, they enrolled at UCL and embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree, specializing in midbrain development. Emmanouil'sdoctoral studies spanned from 2006 to 2010.
