Tomás Sercovich

Chief Executive Officer at Business in the Community Ireland

Tomás Sercovich has extensive experience in the field of corporate responsibility and sustainability. Tomás began their career in 2002 with Business in the Community Ireland, where they held various roles including Membership Services Manager and Program Manager. During this time, they managed a team of consultants and delivered advisory services to major clients in sectors such as food and beverage, energy, and banking. Tomás also played a key role in creating Ireland's first certification scheme on corporate responsibility.

In 2012, Sercovich joined FORETICA as Director of Communications and later became the External Relations Director. In these roles, they led the internationalization strategy, drove stakeholder relations, and oversaw the implementation of advisory on key corporate responsibility themes. Tomás provided advisory services to companies in Spain and Latin America and coordinated member recruitment and retention strategies. Tomás also represented the organization externally in various events, networks, and speaking engagements.

Sercovich's involvement in the field of corporate responsibility extended beyond their work at Business in the Community Ireland and FORETICA. Tomás served as a Board Member of CSR Europe from 2008 to 2022 and was a part of the Judging Panel of the CSR Awards at Chambers Ireland from 2015 to 2017.

Sercovich's most recent role is as the Chief Executive Officer of Business in the Community Ireland, a position they have held since 2018. Overall, they have demonstrated leadership and expertise in driving corporate responsibility initiatives, building partnerships, and engaging with stakeholders at both national and international levels.

Tomás Sercovich completed their Executive Education in Real Development, a good business strategy? from McGill University in 2016. In 2010, they received a Certificate in Management from Technological University Dublin. Prior to that, they obtained an Msc. in International Relations from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in 2002, and a Bsc. in International Relations from Universidad de Belgrano between 1996 and 2000. In 1998, Tomás underwent Independent Research Techniques training at UC Santa Barbara.
