Luis Urrutia

Luis Urrutia is currently serving as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs at Bitso. Prior to this role, they were Deputy General Counsel at the International Monetary Fund from 2023 to 2025 and held the position of Director General Jurídico at Banco de México from 2011 to 2023. Luis also served in various leadership roles, including Titular de la Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera and Subprocurador Fiscal Federal de Asuntos Financieros at Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público between 2006 and 2010, and held positions with the Financial Action Task Force and GAFILAT. They earned their education at the University of Chicago from 1996 to 1998.
