Kai-Uwe Bergmann, FAIA, is a Partner at BIG since 2006, with significant contributions, including the resiliency plan BIG U for Manhattan's coastline. In addition to architectural practice, Kai-Uwe serves as a Visiting Studio Professor at Pratt Institute, co-teaching a course focused on social infrastructure in New York City. Various jurorships have been held, including with AIA Middle East, CTBUH, Reed MIDEM, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for the Marcus Prize, Georgia Institute of Technology for the Portman Prize, The Cosanti Foundation for the Cosanti Medal, AIA Chicago Design Excellence Awards, and the World Architecture Festival. Educational qualifications include a Master of Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia.
