Joshua Mateffy has worked in the finance industry since 2005, when they began as a Trader at the Chicago Trading Company. In 2009, they founded BlackEdge Capital, where they served as the Managing Partner. In 2015, they founded the Wynne Mateffy Research Foundation, a not for profit organization to honor their daughter Wynne, who passed away in 2016 from a genetic metabolic condition. The WMRF has raised over $1.

Joshua Mateffy attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2000 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance and Computer Science.
