Malcolm Garren has worked in the engineering field since 1979. Malcolm'scareer began at Texas Instruments as a Product and QRA Engineer, where they implemented fabrication and packaging process improvements that reduced moisture failure rate from 100% to less than 5%. Malcolm then moved to Honeywell Solid State Product Center as a Senior Reliability Engineer, discovering and analyzing a package durability problem with the Through-the-Camera-Lens (TCL) autofocus camera sensor chip. In 1982, they joined United Technologies Microelectronics Center as a Senior Reliability Engineer, responsible for quality conformance planning, testing and administration. In 1983, they moved to National Semiconductor/Comlinear as a QA Manager/Senior QA&R Engineer, responsible for quality and reliability planning, auditing and testing for analog and mixed signal bipolar and BiCMOS wafer foundry activities, and internal manufacturing operations. In 1998, they co-founded Kota Microcircuits as the Quality Manager, responsible for corporate quality and reliability planning and execution for the start-up company. In 2000, they joined Fairchild Semiconductor as a Senior Quality and Reliability Manager. In 2013, they established MGarren Engineering as Principal. In 2014, they joined National Concessions Group as Director of Quality, formulating and assessing key quality indicators in the manufacturing and business processes, conducting and reporting evaluations on failed products, and making thorough assessments on customer concerns and establishing effective resolutions. In 2015, they joined Cobham Semiconductor Solutions as Reliability Engineering Manager. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Black Forest Engineering as Director of Quality Assurance.

Malcolm Garren obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
