Carl Selvick

Carl Selvick is the current CEO at Black River Memorial Hospital. Carl has also held the position of Senior Director Clinic Operations at Fort HealthCare from October 2018 to June 2022. In this role, they were responsible for the employed medical group that encompassed over 18 specialties, hospitalist services, behavioral health services, rehab services, 15 multi-practice and specialty care clinics, the rural health clinic program, an accountable care organization, and telehealth. Additionally, they oversaw 10 leaders, 250+ employees, 80+ providers/clinicians, 3 board-level appointments, and P&L responsibility for over $121M.

Some of Carl's key accomplishments include developing a culture of service excellence amongst the outpatient division that resulted in consistent top performance in all customer surveys returned with a Press Ganey CAHPS combined average score totaling no less than 93% for all measures reported. Carl also led the efforts to join a high-quality accountable care organization (ACO). In the first operating year, the ACO achieved a quality score of 92% and a Medicare shared savings rate of 2.7% ($71M) that resulted in a system shared savings of $67,000. Lastly, following the results of the community health needs assessment, Carl partnered with key community stakeholders to establish a school-based behavioral health program that expanded to 3 school districts and was awarded the WHA Global Vision Community Partnership Award.
