Chris has worked inside government, campaigns, and corporations as a trusted advisor and communications strategist to political and business leaders. As a Partner at Black Rock Group, he draws from more than a decade of experience working with leading print, television and online journalists to advise clients on digital communications and media strategies. Chris is responsible for counseling Fortune 500 companies and advocacy groups on technology, energy and international affairs policy, serving as the primary spokesman for a range of high-profile clients.
Before joining Black Rock Group, Chris served as the Communications Director for Mitt Romney in the Midwest, leading the presidential campaign’s battleground press operations, directing research, communications, and rapid response in Ohio. Chris has also advised trade associations and international non-profits on a range of public policy objectives and served as a general consultant and lead strategist on numerous successful political campaigns across America, including Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski’s bids for U.S. Senate in Alaska and U.S. House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney’s campaigns for Congress in Wyoming.
Chris has been nationally recognized as a Campaigns & Elections Magazine Rising Star and was named to the American Association of Political Consultants’ “40 Under 40” list in 2018. A graduate of George Washington University with a master’s in Communications from Georgetown University, Chris’s writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, TIME, Politico and numerous regional publications. Chris is originally from Port Jefferson, N.Y., and currently resides in Alexandria, Va.
