Steven O'Ehley

Steven O'Ehley has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Steven is currently working at Black Swan Data, where they started as an Economics Tutor at Stellenbosch University in 2017. Steven then worked as a Trainee Planner and later as a Designate Planner at Truworths from 2018 to 2020. In 2021, they joined Duroplastic Technologies as a Sales Operations Analyst, where they were responsible for managing procurement, overseeing production, and coordinating departments. Steven then moved to Euromonitor International as a Research Analyst, specializing in beauty and fashion market research for the South African market. Currently, at Black Swan Data, they have held various roles, starting as an Insights Consultant, then progressing to an Analytics Consultant, and finally as an Associate Data Engineer. In their current role, they focus on utilizing analytics and automation to optimize processes and tooling, as well as maintaining the quality and integrity of datasets. Steven attended ExploreAI Academy from 2022 to 2023 to study Data Engineering. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Economics at Stellenbosch University in 2017. From 2013 to 2016, they also obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics from the same university.

In addition to their formal education, Steven has pursued several certifications. Steven completed the "Python Foundations for Data Analysis & Business Intelligence" course at Udemy in January 2023. In November 2022, they obtained a certification in "Introduction To Databases" from Coursera. In June 2021, they achieved honors in the "Applied Data Science II: Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis" course offered by WorldQuant University. Similarly, in March 2021, they earned honors in the "Applied Data Science I: Scientific Computing & Python" course from the same institution. Prior to that, in March 2021, they completed a Data Science Bootcamp at HyperionDev. Their earliest certification is the "Programming for Data Science Nanodegree" earned from Udacity in August 2020.
