Jack Elston

Jack Elston has a wealth of experience in the aerospace engineering field. Jack started their career in 2003 as a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they served as the primary software, networking, and electronics engineer. In 2007, they joined Techoshark as a Software Engineer and was a founding member of the small startup. In 2010, they became the Chief Electronics and Software Engineer for Forge Aeronautics, a small startup that designed a low cost autopilot for the Air Force. In 2012, they returned to the University of Colorado Boulder as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In 2018, they joined the Aerospace Engineering Advisory Board at the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2019, they became an Advisory Board Member at the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools. In 2022, they became President and Board Member at UAS Colorado.

Jack Elston attended the United States Naval Academy from 1999 to 2001, followed by the University of Colorado Boulder from 2001 to 2003 where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Jack then returned to the University of Colorado Boulder from 2003 to 2005 to earn a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. Jack continued their studies at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2005 to 2007 to earn a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering, and finally completed their studies with a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering in 2011. Additionally, Jack Elston holds a Remote Pilot License from the Federal Aviation Administration.
