We are moving past the typical correlated weather risks associated with the energy and agriculture markets, into verticals such as snow removal, restaurants, golf courses, construction and shipping, where weather risk is currently unhedged.

While companies have long used insurance to manage the risk of catastrophic weather events, only recently with the advances in big data, has it become possible to provide hedges to address the risks associated with daily/hourly weather fluctuations (high frequency/low impact), tailored to an individual company’s needs.
